I just did not have the mood with raya celebration and all. I guess it's not too late to wish you Selamat Hari Raya and maaf zahir batin if in anyway I did something wrong. Raya is fun. Even when you are all grown up, there are something to enjoy. Visiting friends and families. Eat ketupat and rendang like there's no tomorrow because those foods are going to be around on raya period only. And watching those movies which you never bothered to watch at all before.
For your info, I already started working since 1 October 2009. I got the job at Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and stationed at the Petronas Twin Tower. The offer came 1 week before raya. At last my prayer was answered. Even though at that time I'm not bonded anymore with Petronas, it really does mean a lot to me, since finding a job at other companies is very hard. At one time, I was interviewed for only 5 minutes because the company totally rejected any candidates in connection with Petronas, even in my case which I was to be released.
The job is not going to be easy, I know. Without much knowledge about the oil & gas industry, It's not going to be easier. Let's just hope I will get through this. And I hope I will not whine about my job here or anywhere, as i know how hard it is being unemployed and cannot get employed. For those who have problem like mine before, I know this won't help to improve anything, but i know how you feel. I've been there.
Do you know what's worth fighting for? When it's not worth dying for? Does it take your breath away And you feel yourself suffocating Does the pain weigh out the pride And you look for a place to hide Did someone break your heart inside You're in ruins...
One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky You and I
When you're at the end of the road And you lost all sense of control And your thoughts have taken their toll When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul Your faith walks on broken glass And the hangover doesn't pass Nothing's ever built to last You're in ruins
One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky You and I
Did you try to live on your own When you burned down the house and home Did you stand too close to the fire Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone
When it's time t live and let die And you can't get another try Something inside this heart has died You're in ruins
One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky You and I
p/s: currently my theme song. Trying hard not to give up.
Sebab apa pekan lama. Sebab dulu pekan utama Parit Buntar kat sini lah. Sekarang dah banyak kawasan pekan baru kat sini.
Apa yang ada kat pasar malam ni. Macam-macam ada. Kebanyakannya makanan lah. Barang lain pun banyak jugak. Biasa la pasar malam. Mana-mana pun mesti meriah jugak. Kecuali tempat-tempat tertentu haha. Aku biasa nya datang pasar malam nak beli makanan. Antara yang wajib dibeli ialah
1-Fishball goreng 2-Murtabak 3-Kuetiaw goreng 4-Satay (ni tak selalu sangat lah)
Memang tetap sedap macam dulu. Kalau beli tempat lain, memang rasa lain dan takda selera.
Kuetiaw goreng pulak beli kat area pasar lama tu. RM1 je sebungkus. Tak la banyak mana tapi sedap dan memang duk beli kat dia je. Beli yang lain memang rasa lain.
Murtabak pulak beli kat gerai atas ni. Kalau budak-budak UTP selalu pegi pasar malam hari rabu tu akan perasan gerai ni kat Taman Maju tu. Rabu kat sana, Jumaat dia datang sini pulak.
Nak satay beli la kat gerai Wak Satay (1972) kat tengah-tengah pasar tu. Gerai ni memang kira otai lah. Memang selalu jadi tumpuan orang nak beli satay.
Disebabkan Parit Buntar dah semakin membangun, pasar malam ni makin menjadi tumpuan. Makin ramai orang datang dari segala golongan. Student USM. Amoi vietnam kerja kilang. Maka potensi perniagaan untuk peniaga-peniaga kecil-kecilan ni makin bertambah.
Aku saja je la nak cerita pasal pasar malam kat sini sebab takda idea nak tulis apa. Sebenarny a akupun cuak jugak nak pegi pasar malam masa H1N1 tengah berleluasa sekarang ni. Setakat ni takda kes lagi kat sini. Tapi USM Engineering Kampus dekat dengan sini dah ditutup sebab ada ramai pelajar yang kena influenza tapi bukan H1N1. Dah ramai pakai mask sekarang aku nampak.
Oh, cerita pasal pasar malam teringat pulak kat kawan-kawan aku yang pegi parking kereta kat area lrt sungai besi. Nak pegi tengok MU kat bukit jalil. Balik malamnye tengok-tengok tempat yang derang parking tu wujud pulak pasar malam. Terpaksa la ambik kereta tengah malam tu. Mujo la korang tak ramai boleh aku ambik dulu haha.
It was a fine hazy evening in KL. I was in the car doing above my average speed, rushing from Ampang to Bangi to pick up the guys. I said I'll be there in 15 minutes. Thus I tried my best to keep my word.
The track played on the stereo was Highway To Hell by the band ACDC. I'm not a big fan, but that track sure is catchy. I was on the fast lane and there were few cars in front of me on the left lane. One of them, a certain red Proton Saga was doing around 70-80 kph, I guess.
Suddenly the red car on the left lane in front of me was weaving left and right, as if the car was avoiding some invisible obstructions. But there was no obstruction. So, perhaps the car was trying to do a manouver, as they do in Formula One car, to heat up the tires to get more grip. But the car is a Proton Saga. Not a multi-million dollar, above 300kph speed car. It has no front or rear wings. So, I thought the car was just loosing control, and I slowed down. It happened for a few seconds and then the car suddenly took a long turn to the right into the right lane. I thought, oh no, this is going to get ugly.
The car slammed its front side to the barrier in the middle of the highway. Instead of steel, the barriers are made of concrete. Fortunately, the car was not so fast, and the crash was not so severe. But the crash happened right in front of me and i had to brake hard to avoid the red car. I managed to stop inches away from the car. A few milimetres more and my front end would graze the red car. After avoiding the car, I stopped on the right lane to checked on the car's driver. But the traffic was busy, considering it was almost rush-hour. I could not leave my car just like that in the middle of the highway. So after checking the driver, an uncle, was okay ( he just went outside of his car scratching his head, as if wondering what the hell had happened), and the car was not that bad (only severe damage to the front bumper of the car), I continued my journey. In the end, I reached the guys in 20 minutes. Went to the cinema to watch Public Enemy. It was a good movie based on true story about John Dillinger played by Johnny Depp.
My view is that the driver was tired and sleepy. That was why he lost control of the car out of nowhere. So, take a rest if you are tired. No matter how careful you are, you could always get into trouble, by yourself, or by other drivers. That was what my father always told me.
p/s: Quote from johnny depp : I've always been frightened of karaoke, so I've never tried it. Karaoke scares the hell out of me.
Went out to the bank to get some cash. But who would have guessed, bloody traffic jam in my little town. A traffic jam even in a town as small as Kangar is understandable. Took 3 red light to pass a junction. That just triggered some driver to change lane without proper signal or compromise. I felt like I'm in KL already.
Parked the car in front of a phone shop. Guess they sell prepaid top-up without any problem. But saying they're out of stock, in the middle of a Monday, is something mind-blowing. Fine. Went to other phone shop around the block. It seems that they share the common supplier. There are about 7 shop and only one have hotlink top-up.
Went inside Billion supermarket to buy some groceries. The PA system played the advertisement in loops and I just can't get it out of my head. It babbled about the sale that is going on in the store. Note to self: tips for an effective ad: make it funny and stupid. Went to the cashier counters choosing the shortest queue in the middle. Bad choice. The uncle at the front had his trolley fully loaded. Stuck with some onions and snacks in my left hand and instant noodles and sweetened creamer in the other. Only 4 friggin items waiting for 15 minutes. Too late to change queue lane.
Slept unintentionally at eight. Now, at two, eyes still wide open. Need to sleep to drive to KL tomorrow. Got interview at Ampang on Wednesday. Wish me luck.
If you ever wondered why in the name of your favourite flower pot is your TV showing some men in tight suits driving a vehicle round a circuit, you must never heard of 'motorsport'. During this 'off' period (after my study years) I started to appreciate more of motorsport. Not that it's a new thing to me. I started to follow this phenomeneon since i know how to read and write. I'll tell you later about that another day. Nowadays my weekends are filled with races from all around the world. Many would say that Formula 1 is the best motorsport of all. But my fayourite is MotoGP. The Grand Prix motorcycle racing. It has 3 classes. The 125cc, 250cc, and MotoGP (now with 800cc bikes). Of course, most attention is paid to the premier MotoGP class.
The 6th round at Catalunya, Spain on 14th June 2009 was the best race I ever watched. The reigning champion, Valentino Rossi from Italy provided a superb ride in a race full of thrills. It was a battle between Rossi and his teammate Jorge Lorenzo from Spain. If their bikes are not decorated almost identical, you could be forgiven for thinking that these two riders were from different rivaling teams in that race. But the fact is, both of them are from Fiat-Yamaha Team. Rossi, nickcnamed as The Doctor, rides his legendary number 46 bike with some yellow-ish decoration while his teammate Lorenzo rides the number 99 bike.
(Valentino Rossi)
From the start of the race, it was a head-to-head battle between Rossi and Lorenzo. The master against the 2008 Rookie of the year. The six-times MotoGP champion against the guy who just started to race in MotoGP class last season. Both have the same machine but different mechanic teams. But Lorenzo had beaten Rossi twice this year. This time they were at it again.
(Jorge Lorenzo)
With 3 laps to go, Rossi overtook Lorenzo and lead the race. Rossi held that position for a lap, before Lorenzo tried to overtook him in the straight. But Rossi overtook him again just at the next corner, folding his leg inside while zooming past his teammate to prevent a crash. Lorenzo managed to hang on to Rossi to prevent his teammate from breaking further away up front. It was the most thrilling final three laps with Lorenzo's front end almost touching Rossi's rear tyre. A mere milimetres were the only thing standing between them. Both of them were in the risk of crashing into each other. Surely, their team-head was not amused if both of his riders crashed out in the closing laps while leading the race.
Lorenzo made his move again in the last lap, cutting through in the straight, and shut any space to prevent Rossi to pass. In the middle of the lap Rossi managed to pass through but somehow miscalculated the move and Lorenzo took back the top spot. Rossi was hanging on and pushing his bike to the maximum trying to not letting Lorenzo get away. In the final corner of the last lap, Lorenzo had his right wide open for Rossi. It was a very little gap of time and space but Rossi took his chance and overtook Lorenzo. After the corner it was the chequered flag and Rossi hang on to his lead for a few hundred metres to his 99th Grand Prix victory. Unbelievable. Rossi took the victory right at the death at the final corner, by a 0.095 second margin.
After the race, the championship standing was tied between three riders. Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, and Casey Stoner (Ducati Marlboro Team) shared the top spots with 106 points each. The 8th round of the race ended last Sunday. But that's another story.
(Rossi rides the yellow-ish bike. Sorry for the low quality video)
Sorry for the low quality video. I'll try to find another after this. If you would like to search on your own at You Tube, you can find under the keywords: MotoGp Catalunya 2009.
